maybe your timing is slightly off. if it was done right, changing the timing belt does not affect vtec.

ok i kinda thought that. we set it so that the pointer was on the middle mark. is that right?

the pointer in the middle mark? what did you go buy? you should have used the markings on the cam gears.

when both arrows are pointing up like so: ^ ^, the you are at top dead center (TDC). then it's safe to remove anything dealing with the timing.

they were. but when the were both pointing directly up the timing marks were like a tooth off no matter how we did it. so we lined the marks up and the arrows were still pointing up but they werent straight up like i thought they were supposed to be so i just lined the timing marks up horizontal to the head

hmm...i would definatly double check the timing and make sure it on point. if not then go ahead and take the proper procedures to correct it, taking that you know the procedures.

yeah i know the procedures. it was really weird though on my cam gears. its like the messed up the punch for the timing mark on one of them. i could not get them to point directly up and still be level. i dunno. after that we threw it all back together and checked the timing after it warmed up. all the marks were like an inch back of the pointer. we adjusted it now so that the middle mark that had like a reddish color was right at the pointer.

Thats all i'm saying. I'm not meaning to be an *******, but this question has been answered so many times that its rediculous. If people really cared, they would search for the answer instead of just posting the same thing over and over again.

Glad you fixed it though bro
