CV Joint....
So I hear hondas are notorious for having bad CV Joints. In a right hand turn in my prelude I've been getting a clicking noise from what i believe is a failing CV joint. So whats the best plan of action? How much should the repair cost? thx guys
Well do you have tools? A shop manual?
Personally, what I would do is - Order a remaned OEM Honda axle online and have it shipped to my house. Then install it myself. The Honda ones are much more expensive though.
Or you could buy a cheap made in China axle for maybe $75 at the local Autozone/Pepboys
Or you could take it to a shop = $125-175?

I've had luck racing on *new* NAPA axles. About $125. They have remans too, but, I'd avoid remans.
It's a pretty easy install once you get good at it. Take the axle bolt off, wheel off, a few suspension bolts including lower ball joint and bang/wedge the axle out of the tranny (or countershaft). If it's the passenger side you'll have to drain the tranny.
I'm sure there's a writeup online.

I am also running on new NAPA axles since the motor swap - have had no issues.

I have seen remaned napas fail within 4 months, so head most peoples advice and get *new* ones. The job isnt tough, and you can get good at it quick, last one i did, car was in and out of my garage in 12 minutes according to the owner.
