c.v. boots torn?
i was changing my breaks. i noticed that both of my c.v. boots are torn. is there a quick fix. not clicking when i turn left or right. so i think there still good? so what could i do to fix torn boots. and keep them lubed?

u should just by the whole axel all over its easyer to install and they cost around 20 bucks rebuilt for the whole axel and its just poping it in and out thats it rather having to deal with changing the boot

20 bucks rebuilt? i dont know where your looking , but they cost more thna that around here, unless you consider the "junkyard" a rebuilt axle.
Pull the axle out, and buy a cv boot kit, very easy to install, and comes with the grease and clamps to do the job, you might wanna buy more grease though, just incase, because you will need to cleen all the old grease off because it not has crap in it. when you take the axle out, pull the inboard joint apart,and remove the circlip that holds the toroids to the shaft, and then clean up the end of the axle (coupler) and the toriods. make sure not to lose the needles, as they can fall out from time to time, and inspect them for any serious wear.lube up the needle bearings good, put the boot on, install the toroids and circlip, and mount it to the coupler, and your done.

now he did have the right idea. it is easier to just get a rebuilt axle they go for $50 at the napa store.

i replaced mine on my hatch and it only cost me from 20 to 30 dollers i cant remeber but it came from an autoparts store right down the street from my house i know the diffrence between rebuilt and a junkyard
