Default BITCH pin

no talking crap... am getting pissed to where am going to take a "saw-za" to the center of this linkage. Honestly I have tried every trick in the book... 12mm A/C bolt did not work, even raised the car to get more area to swing hammer! Tried using the C-Clamp trick and that did not work. Honeslty I think that the "BITCH pin" is rusted, should I drill out the pin? please help! thanks

i know what you mean! Cant stand that lil f*ckr but i use the exhaust bolt it fits perfect, the one right there with the spring by the cat. but sometimes it takes hundreds of swings =/ another way that works is a air impact gun with a pointed chisell, took half a sec but most dont have that handy

good luck

I wouldnt highly suggest drilling it out, for risk of oversizing the hole, making any future bitch pin not fit tight enough. Have you used any degreasers or PB plaster or WD 40? that may help loosen it up

Do you have an air compressor? If so an air hammer will take it out in a few seconds. If you do have an air compressor available, but you dont have a air hammer you can find them real cheap at most auto parts stores.

helll yea x3 for air hammer it makes it NOT a bitch pin. but if you dont haveacsess to one, and you have spare shift linkage i would just cut it off.

f a rubber mallet, get a punch and a sledge hammer, i've never had an issue with the pin.

its easiest with two people, one to hold the punch the other to swing the sledge.

lube it up, line it up and tap away

also if you go to sears they have the punch with the little nipple type deal on it that'll keep it centered.

C-clamp trick worked perfect for me...Plus, isn't it bad to be hammering something that is directly connected to your transmission?

so by using a "punch" would I have to take the pin out from the underside of the linkage as if the pin will come out going towards the hood? Damn bitch pin, also I have thrown some WD-40 on that *****!!!!

I use long 3/8 extensions from the top. I put a 7/32 allen hex bit on the end of two long 3/8 extensions and slip it down by the throttle body. Hit the extensions with a BMFH, did I say that.

The pin will fall into the ground. Done this a cazillon times.

BFH and a good punch.( the right size )done. although if your trying this on the ground i've never had luck. it needs to be on a lift so you can stand up under it.

its not that hard...
take a 8mm roll pin punch and a hammer. 5 medium strength hits and its done.

youve probably destroyed the roll pin, and your shifter is going to be terribly sloppy.

Probably expanded it. Air hammer or I use a door hinge pin from my front door. fits perfect.
