Default help my eg rpm stays at 2000!

first of all i like to start off by saying that this is the best place in the world for help and hints. and you guys have always helped before. okay so i have a eg with a b16a in it . my rpms stay at 2000 and wont drop . i deicide to clean iacv to see if that helped a little i got it down to 1500 but then i moved the wired from the map sensor and the rpms moved right back up 2000 rpms . so i started to wiggle the wires from the map sensor and it started to drop but then as i stopped it went back up so i kept wiggle it to see if anything would happen and i kept on getting the same response. so i changed my map sensor with a new one and it still kept on doing it. so how can i go about and determine if my wires are bad and if so can i just cut the three wires and splice it with a different map senor plug. also i do have a code on my car it flashes seven little flashes and one long flash!

yea you can splice in a new map sensor connector, just make sure you sotter ther wires, you have a check engine light for....

7. TPS- Throttle Position Sensor
10. IAT- Intake Air Temp Sensor

Edit: i would say it is your TPS that is messing up you idle

i have a similar problem heres whats going on my idle sits at about 1500 at start up slowly goes down to about 1200 maybe and stays there it drops some times but never below 1k it used to be low then i adjusted the screw a brought it up to about 750-800 it was fine for a good while, then when i drove it for a while at least 20 min it would get high and start to bounce, now it sits high i tryed adjusting the screw but no luck ive checked for vac leaks but cant find any any sugestions?

edit: its a 92 vx btw d15z1

Color doesn't mean much. But you said...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by hondaon18’s &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> i noticed that my iat sensor has a plug with on(e) wire coming out. now correct me if im wrong but don't it suppose to have t(w)o wires coming out of the sensor? </TD></TR></TABLE>

And now you are saying it has two wires?????????

Hayne's manual says that idle speed should be at 750 +/- 50 rpm for the B18C1.

Could be a faulty IACV? Throttle plate not shut all the way?

how can to check to see if the iacv is not shut all the way. and i thought that if the iacv is bad that it would make the rpms jump up and down?
