96 EX front body parts interchange question... Help (eek)
Hey there everyone, how are you?
I'm Ralph, and I've been driving civics for a while now. My passion is Mustangs, but I've found myself appreciating these little cars quite a bit. I really miss my '91 4-speed hatchback
Anyway, I currently have a '96 EX Sedan. I've had no trouble with it and put about 35k on it since I bought it. It currently has 151k miles and still runs like a top. I really like this car.
Which is why it bummed me out so much when my girlfriend called me in tears this morning to tell me that she hit a telephone pole with it.
She was fine, but it left the car needing some new parts. Hood, both fenders, bumper cover (at least, if not the support as well) and windshield (from her head, which ironically isn't hurt at all).
It hit on the passenger side right about in line with the headlamp. The headlamp assemblies are still intact and seem sturdy, there wasn't any damage to the radiator support at all, but the PS fender is wrinkled and the hood is shoved over a bit. Driver's side fender was dented when I got it, so seems like no better time to fix that.
Well, after all that rambling, my question is what year parts can I use on this? I know the 4-door fenders are different, or at least that's what I remember reading? I'm hoping to find stuff in the correct color to bolt on until I can get some proper paint on it (black). I know that it's popular to change out this stuff with the youngsters trying to get the Fast and Furious look going, so I'd imagine it would be fairly easy to find OEM takeoff sheetmetal and plastic, right?
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!
Ralph
PS, I may not reply with a thank you since I used up my 5 posts per day limit over the the 01-05 forum accidentally (newb)
