New pressure plate install problem
I ordered an 8lb fidanza flywheel and oem exedy clutch off ebay.
When I went to install the pressure plate over the clutch (with the alignment tool of course) I aligned the three pins and the pressure plate still doesn't sit flush over the clutch. When I tightened the 6 10mm 12 point in a criss cross pattern, when I went to tq them down at 19ft/lbs, the head of one of the bolts broke.
Why isn't it sitting flush? The clutch is on the right way. When I put the OEM clutch on (the worn one) the pressure plate sat closer but not flush.

it sticks out maybe 1/4 of an inch those 3 tabs barely go in. When the clutch isn't in there, it sits fine up against it. And when I put the worn down oem clutch, it sat a tad bit closer.

The clutch only fits one way. If I put it the other way, the springs on the clutch touch the flywheel bolts and it's not flush with the flywheel.
