Default help with clutch installation please.

so im installing my new exedy flywheel and cltuch. flywheel went in fine the i popped in the allignment tool to put the clutch disk then the pressure plate.

now am i stoopid or is the pressure plate supposed to fit flush on the the surface of the flywheel? the dowel pins are in their correct spots. Right now it looks like the pressure plate is sandwhiching the clutch disk. which way is correct?

Sounds like your clutch disc is upside down. Its suppose to go flush to the flywheel (sides) and the disc sits flush to it as well. When its on correctly you wont be able to move the clutch disc.

When the clutch is engaged, yes (obviously), the pressure plate should be sandwiching the clutch. Think about how it works. When you install your clutch, the throwout bearing isn't bending the pressure plate fingers to release the clutch, so that's how it should look when you're NOT on the pedal. If it's not sandwiching the clutch disk, how are you going to be putting any power down

Be sure to use proper torque specs.
