New clutch but didnt resurface flywheel?
Alright so i got a new stage 1 clutch installed by my friend, it was a out of the blue thing that had to be done that night so we didnt get the flywheel resurfaced, he did take some course sand paper and sand it alittle bit, but im sure it did nothing.. how bad is it really to run a new clutch on an old flywheel? i read it will just make the clutch go out faster, how much faster are we talking? any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Well it only matters if your flywheel was warped or had hotspots or was gouged and really rough.
Most high-mileage and/or abused cars typically qualify with one of these conditions, and I would always highly recommend getting a resurface job.
Although ideal, flywheel resurfacing is bypassed for many clutch jobs. I'd say probably 50+% of all jobs done don't have the flywheel resurfaced.
Think about how important it is to have your rotors turned when you do a brake job? Have you ever put new pads on an old set of rotors? It's not always pretty.
Now elaborate on that concept and apply the theory to your clutch/flywheel.

that makes me feel 100 times better, ive been worrying alot about it, from what i seen it didnt look too bad, and if it was real bad he would of said something..
Also, when the car is in neutral and the clutch ISNT pressed in, i can hear like a spinning sound of something, it did this before we replaced the clutch too..and when i press in the clutch its silent, all i can hear is my motor..i always thought it was the throw out bearing but we put in a brand new one, and also a brand new pilot bearing i think its called, what could this spinning or almost rubbing sound be?
Thanks a ton for the info guys.

that sounds like the input shaft bearing (aka ISB), which is inside of trans, and would require pulling the trans off again, splitting the case halves and replacing it... IT could possibly be a different bearing (mainshaft bearing, or a needle bearing) Regardless you'll have to take the trans apart to fix it.
well it's not going to ruin your trans to put it off, the bearing or bearings will just continue to get worse. Eventually it won't be drivable. There's no way to tell how long that will take.
