Default just installed alarm and now it's actin funny, possible ground issue? plz help

hey i have a 1994 honda civic si and I got a crutchfield 650i5 alarm system and just installed everything except for the door lock part. I decided to test the alarm to see if it works and i noticed that when i plugged the backup battery to the brain the brain just started clicking like 4 times then stopped. I close the door and arm the system but all I hear is a bunch of clicking from the brain and the same thing happens when I hit the unarm button. I'll see the LED light flash one time then turns off.

When I put the key in the ignition and turn the key the alarm will go off, doesn't matter if it's armed or not, it'll go off regardless but the sound is very low and faint. Sometimes it varies, it'll b quiet or i can barely hear it at all.

Now I'm thinking that maybe it's a ground issue cause the siren has it's own ground and so does the brain from the harness plug has its own ground. Or could it also be that I haven't connected the door lock harness to the brain yet and the brain needs all of the harnesses connected to it for it to work properly?

what back up battery did you use? Were are all your power and ground connections coming from. aparently you are not using a meter while you are installing this.

I used the backup battery that came with the system. A small battery that's inside the brain and has a plug inside. I've connected all the wires to where they were supposed to go. I've followed instructions on the manual and used the diagrams specifically for my car online to where the wires are supposed to go.

Would not installing the door harness part have any affect in this though? I would think not right?

here's a breakdown of what I did:

I connected the red wire from alarm to white constant 12V+.
Yellow wire to black/yellow from ignition.
Red and white wire was for starter interrupt so I connected red to one end and white to the other end.
Brown wire to red wire on horn.
Black wire from horn to ground.
Black wire from alarm harness to ground.
Green wire to light green/red wire from driver side kick panel area.

I haven't wired up the parking light yet, hood pin, or the door lock part yet cause i need to go to the store and buy some supplies.

Where and how did you ground the alarm and siren?

What type of connection did you use, [solder, crimp, T tap or AMP style]?

I can find no info on the alarm, [wire guides/install manuals] but it sounds like you have made all the right connections to the right places.
Did you confirm that you had the correct light green/red for the doors?

If you have the correct leads, and the connections are good, including the ground, I would guess the alarm is DOA. 94
