if you have both then i would use the crowers they are a better rod. that said both would work fine, as long as the eagles have the newer larger bolts

you sure crower I beams are stronger than eagle H beams? dont they advertise that as a mild boost mainly NA rod?

I-beams are generally lighter and made for high rpm use with no power adders, not always but alot of the time.

if they are the 4340 billet rods they can handle all the power he can throw at it.
if they are the maxi light rods they are not as strong.

thanks for the good info. the 4340 Steel Billet Connecting Rods are the same ones i have, so it loooks like i should go with the crower rods over the eagle's since i already have them.

use the eagles, they will handle 400hp no problem, and you can sell the crowers for more money than you could sell the eagles

for 400 hp eagles will be fine. but i guarantee you're gonna want more power at some point so you might as well spend the extra $200 and get the better ones, crower.

I've been quoted $280 for Eagles and yet I see the Crower Rods MSRP 726! Where do you get the Crower Rods for 500?

i think this is kinda going the wrong way, hes looking for 400whp, eagles will handle that no problem, he can save a few hundred bucks to spend on another aspect of the build, not saying anything bad about the crowers there quality pieces but for this specific application almost any aftermarket rod will do.

Both rods will handle 400 hp. It´s not hp that kills rods it is rpm. So if you are reving to like 9000 eagles would be fine. If you wants to rev higher.. I would trust the crower billet ones better.

So if you are gonna rev to like 9000 and make 400 hp I would chuse the lightest rod.

Can you use the Eagle H beam rods on a high RPM 12:5.1 comp K20? Or are they to heavy and not made to spin that fast.
