Default Car Radio Indicator Light

Does anyone know about (Civic 99 EXR)
1. if car radio indicator light is replaceable (cannot see time etc in the dark)
2. how can it be done without compromising the security feature of the radio/CD player

If you are talking about the "back lighting" in the display then the display is probably the problem and yes it can be replaced, but not worth it, for the cost of repair you can replace it with a new, brand name, aftermarket HU that will outperform the stock HU in every way.

I have not seen a repair bill for an OEM HU that was less then $300, $300 will get you a pretty good HU, w/ kit had harness, shipped to your door from an authorized dealer. 94
