Default Air Conditioning Install

Well I guess this isn't a very popular thing to do as I only came up with one, particularly useless thread when searching:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=847987

But as my car isn't a dedicated track beast and used during the summer, during previous hot weather I've sweated my bollocks off and wished I had air-conditioning.

Obviously the guy that bought the car from new (Honda UK Manager), decided it was too expensive at £1,200 and not worth it.

So, my question being, are there any write-ups or information on installing A/C into a car that never came with it from new? How easy is it to do and can it be done with second hand parts without fiddling around behind the dash?

I realise most of you lot will have FAR more experience ripping it out than putting it in, but I'll get far more benefit having it during the hot months than getting that bit more power/weight on circuit a couple times a year.

thank you in advance

Is your car LHD? I have most of the components out of my LHD USDM. Its not that hard. Fiddling with the lines and making them fit properly I think is probably the most tedious part.

Remember that A/C was an accessory option on USDM ITRs in 97 and 98; therefore, Acura has dealer instructions on how to install A/C on these cars.

I'm sure with a little google searching you can pull up the documents.

Perhaps len might be able to pull up the dealer instructions. Might be a little different for rhd, but should relatively similar.

Honda's are like legos, everything just comes together. Shouldn't be that hard, once you start I'm sure you'll see where everything goes.

I have my motor out right now so it would be easier to see? I could take some pics of the engine bay for you and show you which lines go where if it helps at all....your own your own behind the dash though lol

the helms has instructions in it as well.. most of it you can figure out with just a picture of the engine bay.. not sure if they put the interior piece in the cars without the factory A/C though..

Go to your local Acura dealer. They can print one out for you. Not a lot of places put those up online, and even if they did chances are they took them down long ago.
