walbro burning out after one pull?!?! help!!!
hey guys and gals. just finished my swap. its a turbo b16. took it to get tuned everything went fine made 400+ hp. then like one day later the fuel pump started to whine really super loud and it was loosing fuel pressure once it hit boost. so i replaced the pump took it out for a drive and it was making the normal walbro 255 rumbling noise. got one good pull out of it then it started squealing just like the old one and leaning out really bad in boost. whats going on here???

Did you check the lines for cracks ?

Walbros don't rumble unless you aren't feeding them enough power. Cycle the key, should be a smooth hum, actually quieter than the strangled gurgle they produce when strangled by stock pump wiring and shoddy chassis ground path.
Anyway, Walbros will kill themselves if they are operated when there are any leaks in the system... if you aren't smelling raw gas dumping out check the piece of hose that connects the pump to the gas tank lid. I went through the exact same thing with an '02 RSX where the shop that installed the Walbro tried to block off his fuel return (built on those cars into the tank lid) with a sheet metal screw and only half blocked it off.

figured it out. turns out my tank was all rusty inside so my pick up screen was really clogged. so i'm guessing the pump was starving for fuel. that was the whine i heard. so imma get a new tank and see how it goes.
I thought I had a problem with my Walbro so I ended up calling Walbro tech and he said that its 1 in a million that a Walbro pump is bad. I ened up having a loose wire.
