Steering seems very LOOSE...
My steering seems very light. What i am saying is, I turn a lot on the steering wheel but the car doesn't turn much. I don't know how to describe it, maybe it is not responsive???
Anyone had this problem before?
Because i just got my other type R friend to test drive it, he said it is definitely looser than his steering.

If you turn a lot on the steering wheel, but your wheel doesnt really turn as much, then its not your steering wheel being loose. That has to do with steering ratio.
If its just your steering wheel being lose, then check your tire pressure

haha...i didn't mean that my steering wheel is loose.
Let me try to re-word myself.
I got the loose feeling from the steering wheel, i might suspect something being loose on the steering components. rack?? I really don't know.
Also, let's day, pushing in 1st gear going all the way to redline and change to 2nd. Will you guys feel that the steering wheel pulls/jerks to one side?

How many miles on the car. Something that wears out is the actual steering rack. You will get this off center feel from the steering where the wheel does not feel on center or loose.

I actually had something very similar to this happen. What it wound up being: someone tried to steal my car, and I guess in trying to break the steering column lock by jerking the steering wheel, they actually stripped the splines off the inside of the steering wheel. So the steering wheel turned a lot, but the wheels didn't actually move. This may or may not have been from previous abuse to the splines, I don't know. I DO know there was a theft attempt on my car just prior to that happening. Pulling the steering wheel is fairly easy, so you might want to check there. Just make sure you disconnect the battery and airbag first

Funny that you even drive a Type-R because the steering ratio itself is relatively quick for a car of its era/spec - that most people find it acceptable. The OP even said he had a direct comparison with another friend's Type-R.

And yes the car had 120,000km right now, so about 75,000miles on it and it had a theft claim before.
So how did you fix your problem? Get a new steering column?
