Default What's next?

Hey guys,

well i bought a 08 civic EX about 4 months ago, i've installed lowering springs, CAI, exhaust (gotta love that tanabe). Now i'm at the point of what's next after header and downpipe? also out of all the headers: Megan, Top Speed, Weapon R... which do you think is better? i went to a meet last night and had a few people laughing at the design of my engine even though i thought it was really unique in a sense that the R18 has potential. just wondering if there were any R18 know-it-alls that can help me out. this is my first car that i'm fixing up.

thx

R18 civic parts guide

I don't have any personal experience with what works and doesn't work with the R18, maybe someone else can chime in and help you out.

The gains from minor bolt-ons are neglible at best. I think your best bet would be to save up for some sort of F/I (either nitrous of the TSI turbo kit out now). Everything else is just a waste of money imo.

well money really isnt a big deal of wasting to me, lol. i just want to do this the right way regardless of whether or not i waste money. There are a few civics here with performance headers and they've surprisingly passed smog. How, i don't know, but all i kno is that the Cat was deleted but they passed. Let's just say wasting money is not a factor, what's to be done?

BTW THX IT, that list was really helpful.

hehe, now that i couldn't afford at the time. now that i'm able to get the funds, i had already installed the exhaust and CAI and done some work to the car already. i figure THAT would've been a waste of money and of my time installing parts by just trading the car in for an SI. like i said, i think the R18 has potential, so am i gonna get help or not? it's not all about money, it's all about what the [freak] i really want to do with my free time. I want to be able to play around with this car but there are times when i say o ****, should've gotten and SI. but i'm already having fun playing with this. why not [freak] around? =\

I say you save up and put a turbo in that beech. Theres someone on here who turbo'd the R18 and its really the best gains for the money you will spend. Your Bolt ons wont do anything for the R18. at most 10-15 hp or more. Vs the hp you will get with the Turbo.

Turbo is your best bet if you want performance

If money realy isnt anything to you, swap it with a k20a2! Then you can start modding away and actually get fast. Especially since kpro and other tuning is available for that engine.
