how high can you rev a
i'm getting a ls vtec with ITR pistons, connecting rods, cams, valve springs and retainers and intake manifold. with s2 cam gears. what do you think the motor would rev to ? i was thinking at least 8200 if not 8500 is that accurate ? any help would be appreciated if you have a similar setup please let me know #'s you got out of it.
well you should be revving to wherever it stops making power, so hit up a dyno
But if you have a bone stock crank thats unbalanced, I'd keep it in the 8200 range or less.

well i got that hatch and it made power all the way to 8500 rpms which is where the stock tach ends it. i cant wait to get this thing tuned and have it really scream right now the vtec is set waaay to high (6,250 rpms). i'm going to take it to modified by kc here in kansas city. i'll probably have it dyno tuned for 3 hours. i've never taken a car to be tuned before is that enough time ? they charge $150 an hour for tuning btw.

a budy of mine shifted his ls-v @9,000 rpm but he had a ported head and done up valvetrain ,cams. the block was stock amd it didnt last long. it punched a hole in the block. we knew it would ,but it was r&d for the shop.
so he ran it to 9k on stock ls crank rods and pistons ? maniac ! dont they redline at 7k stock ? i want to get a balanced micropolished crank so i can wring the sh!+ out of this thing but for now i think the only way i'm going to see 9k rpms is in my friends s2k or on my bike. and btw do you know what kind of #'s your friend was putting down with his lsv ?
