I just finished swappin a b16a2 into my 94 EG. im using an OBD1 civic ex wiring harness. i swapped everything to obd 1.

put it in my car and it starts up and idles fine, but when i give it gas it boggs down and dies, if i let up off the gas when the car is boggin down then it picks itself up and idles fine once again. im stumped. im throwing IAT code which im switching out today. but it sounds like a air leak but i can not find it. i have sprayed brake cleaner around the intake and nothing.

I can give it gas slowly and get it all the way to 1500 rpms but after that it starts to bog down. HELP PLEASE

forgot to add that i have checked timing and its dead on. i tried resetting the ecu also.

sounds like fuel problems almost, do you have gas?? maybe bad fuel filter? could be a million things, maybe dizzy cap??

 

check your fuel filter take it off and pour out the gas from it and see if it is clean or if there is a bunch of crap coming out of it... or your fuel pump could be dead....or even a bad o2 sensor

blowing in the fuel filter is the correct way to check if theres crap in it, if it doesnt blow through, then replace it, i did mine in the dark and took me 10 minutes. be sure to change the crush washers or your gonna hate life.

 

im going to check the fuel filter right now

 

im getting a new fuel filter tomorrow....any other suggestions. ill go a head a get a cap and rotor even though the engine was running fine when we pulled it out of the other car.

Don't think it would be the o2 sensor, i don't even run one.
