Default Start up issues. searched........

I have 98 civic hb with an ls/vtec.Ok
Well the problem I have is when I start the car it misfires for about a minute then it normal.I have NO check engine light.I put in a new dizzy,plugs,wires.Also when I start it I have to give it gas or else it dies.(just for starting it.)(While its misfiring.).Im kinda stump on what it could be.Once it stops misfiring its fine.idles like normal.Also when I'm slowing down and keep it gear it backfires (once) then I put it neutral and it shuts off.Any help would aprieciated.Thanks

I think your plug wires are switched. especially if it backfires.

Well my dizzy is pretty new.I've also swaped with friends with no results.My plug wires are in correct order.Ignition module?how can I check that?It backfires only once then it dies.

How low is your base idle?

My friends car was doing the same kinda thing when i got it and my base idle was so low the car would not idle if you unplugged the IACV. Try warming the car up and then unplugging the IACV and see if the car stalls.

My dizzy is new.but I've also swaped with friends and still does it.Alternator is fine.I'm just missing almost everytime at start up then it clears up.

what do you mean by clears up? like it runs fine after that?... id honestly probably just leave it alone if it runs fine... but if you wanted to further diagnose id start with plugs, and my fuel system after i checked the dizzy and the ignition coil.

backfiring prety much means timing, or injector wires or plug wires are switched somethings hitting at the wrong time.

Well it misses for the first 30-45secs at start up,but clears up and idles fine.but I have to give it gas or else it will shut off.

my car did that too, but it stopped when i replaced some damaged plugs on my harness, and fixed all my grounds.
