Well, I decided to keep the GSR and now I need something to do to it. My choice is alike most others, ive decided to go turbo, but first I'd like to rebuild the motor, make sure I can get the most out of it. I havent really looked into building, but I would like to make around 250hp to 300hp. What are some parts I should look into for the rebuild? My last question is where. I live in NY, about an hour from the city. I'm trying to stay as local as possible, but can anyone give me a couple tips on some good places to go to for a rebuild. Also attempting to stay budget, but I know its hard to stay budget while also looking for power and reliability. Let me know what you guys think.

 

i think you're getting over your head. you want to: rebuild, go turbo, make around 250-300 hp, and go with a budget build. eesh. if you're going for a rebuild, it's basically new gaskets (there are a ton of them you have to get), new rings, new timing belt, timing belt tensioner, water pump, oil pump, rear main seal, etc. etc. however, if you're going with turbo, you may want to consider new pistons, etc. to play with your compression. geesh, just thinking about all this would give me a headache. start small, but dream big.
