I'm gonna do a 5spd swap & the shifter cable is kinda hard to find (most yard here cut them)
& a fd of mine got a 97 prelude cable sitting around

so just wonder will it fit

I only know about 5spds... No, Accords have 1 cable at the shifter, Preludes 97-01 have 2 at the shifter.

 

By the way, is you friend looking to sell the 97 cables... I have a 97 that has a kinked cable...needs to be replaced.

well as far as fitment goes i believe they are interchangeable. and the accords and preludes both have 2 cables. the NOOB is wrong

I know they will fit on the tranny & shifter base
but it may not be long enough or way too long

 

Accord is about 1 inch shorter. I've been looking for Prelude cables for the past week. The Noob knows more about H22 than you will ever. I just don't spend my whole life building thread counts, here. I just look for parts. Don't know much about accords, but most use the Accord cables for the H22 swap into EGs for the shorter distance. 97-01 Preludes base and SH, are not interchangeable with anything else. I've been looking for Prelude cables for the past week, and even went into the dealership to see if the Accords fit, because I found a junkyard by my work that has 2 sets.

THEY ARE interchangeable. and if you are clever enough when you route them they work just fine. No slack at all.

BTW Lude, i have been a member since 03. And with my business and 2 projects in my 4 car garage Honda-tech is here for help and reference. Not a f$cking 20 year old building post counts

Funny @sswipe, I don't care if you've been a member since the time of Christ. They are NOT interchangeable. Where do you want to route Shifter cables...Clever enough!!! What the hell does that mean... Any poor route will cause poor engagement, or even a kink. Any stack even with clutch pedal adjustment will cause sloppy engagement. I'll know for sure this week, when I bring my broken set to the yard that has the accords. Dealerships says they won't work of 97+ preludes. Estore Honda has different shifter schemtics. Don't go around this forum giving bad advise...only Accurate advise. I have the exact problem that Derek has just that I need prelude cables, and found accord ones.

Go back to the HB forums; maybe you can give those guys "I believe" advise!
