Wont go into gear.
I have a 1990 honda prelude that we rebuilt the engine in. We put the engine back in and it fired up no problem. We also put in a new clutch and pressure plate. Now the car will not go into gear. We have bleed the clutch, adjusted the pedal hieght and the free play but nothing seems to work. Sometimes everything works but only for like a minute. It has trouble going into all of the gears. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The car goes into all the gears when the engine is off. The transmission fluid level is ok and the syncronizers are fine. Everything worked fine before the rebuild.
If I were to guess, it's the clutch disk.
Without anything in front of you, put the car in gear while it is off and try starting. If the car moves forward, that means the clutch is not disengaging all the way.
Could be the throwout bearing too, but if you have normal pressure on the clutch pedal, it is more likely the clutch disk.
