yea your stlenoid might be clogged
Theres a screen in the stoleniod you can clean
but it could be about 20 different other things (usually isn't that simple)

well it works. when i got on it tis afternoon and it was loud but im sure it can get clogged. how can a stolenoid not get clogged? it has oil in it, so as everything else in the engine that has oil in it, it has a chance to get clogged. some vtecs are a lil louder than others. how can i clean it?

its not the solenoid that you hear when VTEC engages...

Go to howstuffworks.com and see how it works.

Do any upgrades recently to the intake or exhaust? Changing how air comes into and flows out of the engine can affect how VTEC sounds. For example, when i upgraded my intake, the sound of VTEC became less obvious because the intake sound was much deeper in general, drowning out the distinction between both. The same goes for exhaust upgrades.

lol your solonoid got stolen ... oid xD but no seriously whats a stolenoid hahahahahaha

ok ok ok really tho also try wikipedia.com...... solonoid engages vtec .... vtec actually comes from inside your engine ... know what a camshaft is?

Try this ... get a flat head screw driver and scrape off any dirt on your cam shaft scrape it good .... make that vtak engage loud!

There's 2 seal's on the soleniod one on the top and one on the side where it connect's to the head. Both has filters on them. And there's a lil wire thing thats on the soleniod push it all the way in the socket, If it's not in all the way then it's not going to crack. "MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS WARMED UP FIRST"

lol look gangsta you and your stolenoids dont do SHAT!

Now Solenoids engage vtak but it either does or doesnt, it does not partially start engaging the vtachkk lobes on your camshaft xD

PS - You should reconsider scraping the dirt of your cams. Use a chisel maybe.

Yes there is a vtec button .... anyone know knows their way around honda can run a wire from the vtaK STOLENROID and make a button its quite simple actually, just retarded.

To be very very serious now, take your car to an import specialist and tell them you want a major tune up then the car fully compression tested and computer diagnostic tests run to make sure you have no misfire or anything you prolly have no clue is happening to your car and pay them whatever it is to get your car properly running.

The solonoid simply turns on or off VTEC. It doenst not determine how VTEC sounds. As mentioned before, its either on, or off, or neither (not working), there is asboluteley no inbetween.

The weather can affect the sound of your exhaust. A change in elevation can affect the sound of your exhaust. A clogged VTEC solenoid screen can't.

Retarded Honda people make me embarrassed to own a Civic with an aftermarket exhaust. Sometimes I feel like king of the clowns.

I rue the day that someone came up with an idea to make the Fast and the Furious. If our cars weren't so cheap and so common, maybe we wouldn't have to bear the brunt of it.
