i want HP
-b16 = to week
-gsr= overated
-type r= to expensive
-ls vtec=not reliable
-ls turbo = 2 much time and money

im left with jdm h22a (200hp 161 tq) my mind is made up
-to put a jdm h22a in this 94 dx its around 3 grand on hmotorsonline
-im fine with the price

i have a few questions

-how bad will the handling be?
-how about the shift linkage?(it uses cables?)

Haha. Incorrect, LSVTEC are reliable, when done right..

Ever consider a k20? they're reliable, fast, and expensive, yay.

but, props on h22, torque monsters.

You left out the b20/vtec option. very fun, if done right.

And, you say you want horsepower, b16's push just as much horsepower as a GSR, but, no torque. Torque and horsepower are far different.

You want 'power' in general.

gsr's aren't too overrated. i was goin for that swap but then did my research on the h22 and made up my mind just like you. i'll be buying my h22 very soon. as far as your questions go, just search around especially here on HT. there are plenty of people to help you out and very knowledgable. if you go to this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/650329 that should help you out on most of the info for this swap. check out the hybrid section. so the wiring shouldn't be too hard. the handling won't be bad since the block only weighs about 35-40lbs more than a d block. the shift linkage will only require you to do a lil fab work like cutting a bigger hole and it'll feel a bit different shifting since it's a cable but i say it's well worth it.

as for the smog:

If you go to a guy that doesnt care what motor you have thats called an "under the table" or "illegal" smog. </TD></TR></TABLE><TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by bpkmrtoes &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">if the motor passes the sniffer test then i would just make sure the visual is up to par. Then get the motor bar'd. Legit is the way to go... especially in California. </TD></TR></TABLE>

if you do your search here on HT or anywhere else, you'll be able to find most of your answers. hope all this helps

i say b16. awesome gearing in the tranny close to the type R. yea the torque is lacking but its much cheaper than the gsr and its quicker than the h22. will bolt right up, and you can always do mods to up the hp and torque plus if you tune you can smooth out the torque curse and you will be happy.

usually when you up the hp torque goes up with it. but if you want to up the torque buy a stroker kit. you should be SET!
