ohk, my car is a 2000 honda accord, v6 3.0, recently while i'm driving the maintenence required light will turn on, and at the exact moment the light turns on, the speedo just quits working. It only stays like that for maybe 2-3 seconds, then the light flicks off and the speedo works. Somedays it does it, alot, and some days it doesn't do it or barely any at all. I dont drive this car, i have a del sol so i dont know where to even start to look on my ma's car for the problem. Also, the tranny was replaced under warranty less than a year ago, so i'm just wonderin if they didn't replace a sensor correctly or what? HELP!!

 

Let me guess your cruise control doesn't work when the speedo goes out too?

idk...i havn't used cruise control in a while...and what is the VSS and where is it located?

It's the Vehicle Speed Sensor

 

yeah...i kinda got that....so i did search....and i know what it is.....so yea don't have to be such a dick.........

 

It's been answered 200 times. Which is why I'm telling you to search.

I know I've posted it in other threads.

CEL for vss + No cruise + no speedo = VSS problem

Replace the VSS that's located on top of your tranny towards the rear of it and you're done.

If you do the search, you should be able to find a decent picture of it. Probably be 5th gen related but it'll look similar.
