I just got done with a B16 Si swap in my Del Sol and i went to start it, and I ran it for about a min. Then I started it again to show my dad, again for about a min or two, then i asked my dad to move his car so i could go for a test drive on mine. and when i went to start it, it wouldn't crank. it just kept turning over. so i check for spark and when i pulled the wired for cylinder one, there was water/coolent all the way to the top of the spark plug cylinder of the valve cover. I've been told that it's the head gasket, or that the head itself could be cracked. Has anyone had this happen? or know what the hell is wrong with my motor??

 

i blew a head gasket that bad but it could also be a cracked head

you should pull the head off any ways to find out

that realy sucks

 

I would say head gasket, or warped head. Check the head bolts and see if there even tight, because thats a lot of coolant to get in there and if you didnt see a problem when you had it started before then thats wierd.

i got the motor out of a running car. in fact i drove the car when the motor was in it.

 

and just to double check the head bolts are underneath the cams right?

 

Did you torque EVERYTHING to spec when installing? Either that or the head gasket or warped head option.
