Default After EGR cleaning

Well i cleaned my egr this weekend and want to thank everyone for their help!! now after this is there anything else i should do such as change spark plugs or anything or just take it in and have it tuned. i really don't have any good mechanic with in 100 miles so anything i can do myself would be the way to go

any general maintenance would be good.

did you recently buy this car? Do you know any of the previous maintenance work that was done on the car?

i bought this car years ago with 90,000 miles on it. now it has 245,000 and i have had it tuned about 1 1/2 years ago but i don't think the guy knew what he was doing. i have never had any problems with this car till lately and the egr took car of the bigger chunk of them. Now i have some road noise and new struts to put on. Sure do wish i could find another used car that would treat me as nice as this has!!

ah, well depending on when your last tune up was it may not be a bad idea to go ahead and do that. Just keep up with your maintenance schedule and you should be good.

road noise may be the tires.

You have over 155k miles on that T-belt?
I can't believe you aren't hearing pistons slamming into valves about now.

for his sake i hope he just forgot to include that in his post. you don't want your motor to seize up on you all because you tried to avoid expensive maintenance issues. ignoring maintenance will possibly only increase your repair cost for the future.

Actually i followed my maintenace schedule till the shop i was using (garden city, Kansas) tried to sell me front axles becuase my boots were cracked (hum, still haven't cracked) and they broke my alternator bracket becuase they didn't know how to adjust it) (( this was a honda dealer))and now my closest shop is 3 1/2 hours away. this car has been well maintained up to 200,000 miles. and now the miles pack on fairly fast as i'm driving it 100 miles each day
