Should be just fine. Worked on my ITR with minimal mods...

worked for me...although my car didn't even get to 18. The dyno showed it was *Happiest* at about 16.5 and the power began to drop off if we advanced it any more than that.

Euro Spec = JDM Spec = 11.1:1

Be careful, and use good gas.
WE noticed detonation speckles on my spark plugs on a USDM spec ITR advanced to ~17.5 -18 degrees. FYI

I really should add ... I was/am running a Mugen ECU (which is for sale).

Yeah, but beware, we use RON. 98 RON is 94 octane in the US!!! 98 RON is what Honda recommend here in Europe for the ITR!

I have experienced similar issues with increased compression, a mugen ECU, and advanced timing. On both my ITR and Hatch (built C1) I am running about 12:1 and a Mugen ECU. I have found that 16 is about the max I can run in moderate temperatures otherwise there is detonation between 3500-4500rpm. It only gets worse as the temps go up. This is all on 93 octane. I have yet to experiment with 100 octane.

Clayton - who wonders if anyone recalls the ATL dyno day when my Arrr was knocking quite a bit at 18 degrees.

I have mine at 17 for a while, never had any issues. The car feels great, nice mid range tq gain.I use Sunoco 94 and try not to beat the hell out of the car.Of course I have a b18c1 not c5,but its my understanding 14 to 18 is within specs. And I'm running I/H/E with a 95p72 remapped ECU.
