Can't detach shift linkage coupling from selector rod on tranny.
I have an 87 CRX Si with the stock engine and tranny. We droppe the tranny with the stick and everything still attached. I need to change the selector rod seal where it goes into the tranny, but I can't pull the shift linkage coupler off of there. I have removed the clip and the roll pin, but still can't seem to get that linkage coupler to come off.
Any ideas?
Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Chris

And while I'm at it, I also have no idea how to replace the input shaft seal on the tranny.

You are correct! We disassembled the tranny last night according to the Haynes manual and labeled everything out on our bench with post it notes, so we can put it back together correctly. It only took us 30 min. to get down to the input shaft seal. It was definitely torn and it's easy to see how it could be at fault for getting oil on the clutch and soaking it.
If anyone is interested, I could take pictures and post them.
Thanks for the help.

Once I can figure out how to get the images downloaded from my Camera. I'm a bit miffed it no longer wants to be detected via the USB cable anymore, from any computer.
We are getting the seal in from Nashville today and should have the car together by Friday or saturday. It should be a screamer. No cat, no muffler, fresh tuneup and 1800 lbs. Also has new timing belt, all oil seals replaced oil pan gasket, clutch etc.
I look forward to getting it out and thrashing it. I currently own a Dodge Stealth, and that thing runs like a scalded dog, but it's no fun because it gets up to triple digits and you just don't feel the speed. My little rex should be an absolute blast.
