Default 5th and Reverse.....

Well I finally did the swap! B18B with GSR transmission! It is defiantly a big difference from the last motor. Well as I decided to do the famous test drive, I couldn't put it in reverse!!! So I went through the gears and I cant even go into 5th!!! Every other gear is fine. Fluid levels have been checked and its a go on fluid. My question is, what are some possibilities for this happening? Also can a bent shift linkage do this???

The person I bought the transmission from, swears that it worked when he had it... (I was expecting that answer)

5th/Reverse slider could be locked up. Low fluid seems to take them out.
