Default $50 paint job troubles

Ok, I am practicing the $50 paint job in my AE86 (not a honda but its about paint and it appears there are a lot of experts in here on this) but unfortunatly I know I am not doing something right here.

This is my 2nd coat before sanding:

Here is my fender after the 6th coat before sanding with 800:

Looks really bad and within the little gloss there is I get a massive amount of orange peel.

I am having a very frustrating time with rolling on the paint.

How exactly am I supposed to roll it on? Because I tried to do it light but I get an uneven amount within each roll and if I do it to rough I get a whole bunch of air bubbles.

Also I dont believe I am mixing the mineral spirits and paint correctly. I am doing 60 paint and 40 Mineral spirits. I mix it by cutting 2 plastic water bottles with ripples around the bottle and within each ripple of the bottle I label it as one part. So I go on to 6 ripples on one bottle and 4 ripples on the other and I mix it.

Is that how you mix it?

Please, I need help this is the most frustrating paint job I've done. I just want it to look neat and even but with the roller its close to impossible (Well for me anyways)

I tried searching around the $50 paint job thread but I cannot find anything.

Thanks

i believe you do it light, and you keep on rolling light coats and it will slowly cover everything and will turn out great, you should look at the person who did his EF white.

the great thing about soild colour paints is you can sand them level and buff them after. try leveling a spot on the fender with some 1500 grit to finish and buff it up with a rotary and a decent rubbing compound. i bet that bia will gleem

it wont shine without a machine polish.. cant expect magic without dust!
