Default Couple problems...need some suggestions.

First of all, I'm not a newbie to cars at all, so u dont have to dumb it down much for me. I've got a 98 accord coupe with the 2.3L vtec, disc all the way around. NO mods.

First problem, wondering how much torque steer is too much? I drive normal..60k/hr and give it a tap on the throttle and the steering wheel snaps prolly a full inch...then goes kinda back to normal... IS that ok? i never really had that in my old integras...just wondering if i have play in the steering at all or possibly a bad motor mount?? Not sure how to tell .

2nd problem, sounds like shocks in the back, ...could possibly be, but only sounds like it on one side, and makes a clunk..but mostly if the car hits a bump on an angle where the car shifts sideways. I thought it might be sway bar end links, they seem to have some play when its jacked up in the air ...but not broken, ...doesnt look like sway bar bracket is broken, Dont know otherwise.

3rd Problem is not really a problem more like frustration...where the hell can you find OEM body parts ...I.E. Factory Skirt package parts...I want a body kit thats very close to stock...no gay ripples are air ducts or anything..i bought this car cause of its class...i dont want to look like a kid anymore...where can i find a very plain lip kit and not spend 10 million dollars I remember seeing 95ish integras with a factory flat side skirt...wouldnt mind finding somehting close to that but few and far between in my town.

As far as torque steer goes, I think it's just something that some of our cars do. Mine does the same thing, the only thing you can really do is have it aligned and see if that helps out at all. I'm assuming your car is a stick (since slushboxes tend to "absorb" some of that torque steer) so you could check tranny and motor mounts but if I'm not mistaken one of the axels (driver side I think) is shorter than the other which can cause some torque steer.

I know that is is a dumb suggestion but be sure your jack and spare tire are down tight. That might solve your clunk. Otherwise get some coils, tastefully lower your car (since you don't want to look like a kid I don't think you want to be slammed) and if it still makes noise that confirms your bad suspension theory. I would go through and check to be sure that all the bolts are in there snug first before you go that route though...unless you want new suspension of course

OEM body parts going to be hard to come by for cheap....try your local craigslist listings to see if anyone is selling locally, that's how I got my 5th gen skirts (yes my sig says 4th gen, and that's what they went on )

Well, I guess that's my .02 GL

Oh wow...thanks for the suggestions...i honestly had no idea that these cars came with non equal length cv axles...that makes a lot more sense now why im getting that much torque steer, and why it always wants to spin one tire or the other. My old integra had equal length CV axles, and even though it was single spinner, it still would blaze both tires 90% of the time.

I probably will try and go through the suspension sometime this week, i do plan on lowering the car a bit, with a eibach kit a friend has, I'm not sure which kind they are yet tho, and i have a bid on a set of shocks on ebay at the moment as well.

I have been checking the local craigslist lately, but I'm up in northwestern Ontario, and we are very isolated so i dont have access to much. It's very difficult to source parts around here, i usually stick to ebay as such. Although i would consider a side skirt that isnt oem, i just want a very plain looking skirt for the sides...to accent the plain type R lip i am going to buy for the front.

Oh trust me those sway bar end links don't have to have much play at all to make noise.
I've wasted hours chasing my A$$ around in circles.

The Hondadude official real deal test;
loosen up the locking nuts on the end link studs insert the allen key into the stud and turn it 90 degrees. Tighten down the locking nut and go test drive to the same place you heard the noise before.
