PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY STEREO INSTALL
alright, i have a 97 civic ex and i am putting in a new deck.
ive got all the wires connected and everything and a brand new fuse.
when i go to turn on my car the unit has no power at all.
i also have a little electric tool thing that lights up red if you have 12 or more volts and lights up blue if you have less than 12 volts. IT IS LIGHTING UP BLUE
which means i dont have enough power for the propor voltage [11 - 16 volts]
WHAT CAN I DO TO HAVE MORE VOLTS RUNNING TO MY DECK/STEREO?!
PLEASE HELP!

Get rid of that test light and go to Sears and get a proper $20 multimeter.
Most likely your constant power fuse is blown. A blown fuse will often times still be able to carry a tiny amount of current and light up your test light. The fuse you need to replace is a 7.5A fuse often marked "backup" or ECU, not sure exactly on your 6th gen but it will be plainly obvious. It's in the under hood fuse box next to your battery.

that light tester was just a cheap tool that i got in a little kit that i bought to install a deck. its a piece of $hit but it was only a couple bucks.
would it still be the fuse if all my other lights are working?
ill go check if its blown or not.
im guessing that fuse will only be a few dollars from an auto shop?

Nah don't say that. We already have enough people asking questions without giving us any information, or expecting us to be able to diagnose it without being physically present.
I'M NOT PSYCHIC.
