Today while I was driving I notice that my car was bogging, so i pulled over and thought maybe one of the plug wires came loose. But to my surprise I found it all wet when I pulled it out. So I towed the car home and when I pulled the spark plug out it was drench. Any idea of what is wrong with it? It never smoked or anything it just started driving funny. By the was it is a b18. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

coolant that made it all the way out to your plug wires? sounds a little worse than just a head gasket but if its actually coolant thats all over your plugs than its probly at least a HG.

whats your coolant color, same with the oil. Are they mixing?

am i the only one that thinks its weird that coolant made it all the way out to the plug wire? this may be common but i just dont see how that would happen with just a bad HG

 

Minimally, just a HG...worst-case would be a cracked head where you've got a coolant jacket break.

i took off my head the was a little collant on pistons 1 and 3. and a little rust on the walls. ill get pics up in a bit

I didnt check the spark plugs, but i noticed that i was leaking/losing coolant. Once I noticed some white smoke out of the exhaust, I took my del sol in to the shop. Turns out my head was jsut slightly warped.... head gasket was fine, And from my understanding, that is a result of running too hot. By the way, I have a B18b1.

 

im still confused how coolant made it AROUND your valve cover and into your spark plug wire hole or through the threads of your spark plugs. but w/e. i think you got something goin on there but i cant be certain. swap that HG and FLUSH DA COOLANT

I am also confused on how i would have water outside of the spark plug. Well before I put the head back on I am planning to have it resurfaced and maybe port and polished.

 

EG, you need to see if a new hg takes care of the leak. If it doesn't, you may have a big problem with a hairline fracture someplace. I'm with everyone else on this one... how does the water get out around your spark plug. Not right.

You should have drained the coolant from the block before pulling the head off. That coolant on your pistons is probably from a bit of slosh as you removed the head. I'd check your coolant hoses for leaks, its not uncommon for a very small leak to result in spray at higher rpms. Kinda like putting your thumb over the end of a hose.

What do the ends of your spark plugs look like?
Check your oil, is their coolant in it?

Checked the oil before you removed the head, right?
