Default pioneer TS-W301R

I want to build a box for my two pioneer ts-w301R subs. They are 12" in diameter and the suggested box size is 1.65cu.ft. I believe the dimension in inches should be
15-5/8" x 13" x 14" I want to make sure this is right. also what I want to do is make the box like this l O l l O l so the port is in the very mid and both subs will be ported through that hole. I appreciate any help and hopefully someone can tell me if my dimensions are correct.

You mean something like this?

I would go with a non-ported box for this setup.

The dimensions you give will get you 1.6 cuft, outside the internal volume, [using 3/4" MDF] would be 1.18 cuft.

The other thing is your box dimensions are almost a cube, it will generate "standing waves" inside the box leading to cancellation, [a loss of output].

If it is your first time building a box I would agree with White Smoke build a sealed enclosure with no less then 2 cuft internal volume, no more then 4 cuft, recommended is 3 cuft gross, [two drives], install a divider in the box so each driver has it's own air space, angle at least one surface of the box. 94

How much of an angle? It is my first box build. What is the formula to find the internal cu.ft? and bpr0422 that was more or less the design i had in mind.

As White Smoke & FCM have stated, a sealed enclosure is the way to go with those subs.

And actually, I wouldn't bother building a box. Buy a premade box like this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...59557

I have one of those in my car (only because I got it for like $30 when I worked at Best Buy ) and have my 10 year old JL 12" W0's in it, and they sound pretty damn good.

I actually already have one of those boxes. The box I want to make is for my woodshop project so if I can make at the expense of the school and tuned for my subs that would good.

Match the angle to the back seat angle, so the box butts right up against the seat back.
The formula for volume is Height x Width x Depth.
Some parameters are "fixed" or max, EG; width of box, box has to fit between the shock towers so the outside width dimension can be no more then distance between the shock towers, [lets call that 32"] next would be height, it can be no lower then the outside diameter of the speakers, plus 1.5", [lets call that 14"].

You need an internal volume of 3 cuft x1728=5184 cuin.

Assuming you have an overall width of 32"-1.5"=30.5" and an overall height of 14"-1.5"=12.5" 30.5x12.5=381.25 divide that into the 5184 cuin you need and you get 13.5", [rounded off], meaning the depth of the box will be 13.5"+1.5"=15".
30.5x12.5x13.5=5146, well within the 10% +/- allowed for a sealed box.

For the angle the 13.5" depth can be 5" on top and 8.5" on the bottom, or any combination that adds up to 13.5".

What I will do is calculate the angle I need, cut my two end pieces and center divider, [I always use 1" MDF for end pieces and 3/4" for center divider.
All 3 of these pieces will be exactly the same in shape and size, [other then thickness, unless you use 1" for the divider also] the rest of the pieces, [top, bottom, back and front will screw into the ends and divider.
Once you have your ends you can easily calculate the width of the box.

EG; say the ends are 13.5' in height the bottom is 8.5" and the top is 5", 8.5+5=13.5" 13.5"x 13.5"=182.25 sqin, divide that into 5184=28.5", [rounded off] plus the thickness of the divider will be the width of the box. 94
