EGR valve with aftermarket intake manifold question
OK. Searching the forum informed me that if you keep your EGR valve plugged into the wiring harness, it wont throw a code even though it isnt attached to the block. My question is: Do you need to connect the vacuum line or not to keep from throwing the code?
That's fine for obd1, but the obd2 ecu checks flow, so it will throw a code if the valve isn't connected to the mani. You don't need to have the vacuum line connected. If it's obd1, it just needs to be plugged in.
So for emissions, this aftermarket manifold will never work. The check engine light will come on. Has anyone dyno'd an aftermarket manifold to see if they are worth it? This one came with the car....maybe I should Ebay it.....
Its OBD 2. 98 engine in a 97 Prelude. I am still troubleshooting a motor install, so the car hasn't been started yet...
