Default Funky paint.

I just finished painting the engine bay and it went well. After about 5 min after I had finished the paint started to look like shattered glass in some places and other places were smooth. I thought I did my prep right. FOr the prep I sanded it all down and the primed it and all went well. Then I wet sanded the primer in a couple of spots that needed it. At this point it was smooth and nice. Well I laid the color on and poof shattered paint. What would cause this? I have taken a couple of pics on the cell phone but they kind suck yet you can still see what I am talking about.

And is this savable or do I need to get some aircraft stripper and strip it. Then redo it from scratch?

well it does not need to be stripped but you will have to let it dry very good. then just sand it down untill fry marks are gone then put some sealer on the areas before you repaint it then after the sealer drys dust light coats of base on it then reclear it

Its called lifting, usually happens when your topcoat doesnt get along with whats underneath it. Let it dry then knock it down with some 600 grit, seal it, then base it again and clear it.

I also notice that lifting will happen if you let mixed paint sit for too long and it goes beyond its "shelf life"
