just baught a 89 civic dx hatch and it runs goo d but smokes grey smoke somtimes from the muffler and theres seems to be oil seeping from the bottom of the valve cover .anyone know what this could be? and if its expensive to fix cus i baught the car for 600 thanks

 

Sounds like it's time to replace some gaskets.

First for the leaks, get valve cover gasket kit and a oil pan gasket, for starters. If it's a rear main seal...that's some money, unless you got time and tools.

For the smoke, do a compression test.

yea thanks i just decided to get rid of it it needed body work i just didnt have the money but now i have 1100 looking to buy a nice one at least decent that runs good
