Alright I have a 98 automatic civic with a d16y7. Doesn't want to start when you first crank it over. I can get it started after pumping the gas a few times. After its started it'll start no problem. I've replaced the distributor, fuel filter, I've checked the PFI relay, pulse on injectors, the fuel pump primes and I get fuel out the rail. I need some help here guys. My last thing before I throw away the motor is to replace the fuel pump. Even my mechanic of 30 years working on Hondas is pretty stump. Any help is appreciated!!

Check the voltage on your tps sensor, might need adjusted.

 

alright ill look into that. Also the CEL came on tonight after a cluster swap (g/f said it came on earlier today tho) so ill be looking into what code its throwing tomorrow.

 

The problem might also be caused by a faulty MAP sensor or even a clogged air filter.
