two of my friend has the same problem with there car and we dont know why just need some trouble shooting ok when car is idleing it goes room room room like repeatly we change map sensor we change new trottle change tps sensors and we looked to see any vacumm lines was disconnected and it still doing the same thing and we dont know why its doing it please some help trouble shoot
Try bleeding the cooling system of air bubbles. As jdmpower363 suggests, cleaning the IACV with carburetor cleaner is also worthwhile.
Otherwise, check for intake air and vacuum leaks by spraying carburetor cleaner around vacuum hoses, throttle body, and intake manifold. If there's a leak, the engine should bog.

ok guys...this is what you should first...unbolt your throttle body(drain coolan a little first so you won't make a mess) and remove the Fast Idle Valve(FIV). check the Fast Idler Valve and check if the spring inside that controls the valve operation is still good...if it is still good....then unbolt the Idle Air Control Valve(IAC). it has to be either or both, so....good luck. the reason why i suggest that you check the FIV first is because, it's cheaper than the IAC. you don't wanna buy a IAC that cost over $250 and find out that it's the FIV...which cost $150
let us know!!!

also make sure you dont have any plugs backwards, or in the wrong place period. the TPS and MAP sensors are identical except the color of the wires and are often mixed up. TPS has a red/blue wire in the center. Also check and loose/damaged/missing grounds...

wow alot of these idling problems lately. most of the time it's a vaccum leak some where. take some carb cleaner and spray it around the intake manifold and vaccum lines. small spots at a time though so you can pin point the prob. if the motor revs up you found the prob.
Here is a very HELPFUL link. Read more then twice or so for better explanatory.

i was also told that the other reason behind all these idling probs is cause you guys keep over redlining your car...for the ls motors pretty much...it is the iacv most of the time...well yea...check all the above
