Default msd distributor 8488 worth it?

i am going to buy a new distributor for my current build and was looking at a msd but then i realized i need a coil driver and specific coil to run it so i am just wondering if anyone has used this setup and what are the gains if any or should i just buy a new oem ditributor

youve just landed on a touchy subject. lots of people have used it with success, some have had disasters, tons will say oem. i personally use the msd setup, and i like it and havent had any problems with it. im not sure about making gains from switching to it but it is easier to work on and you wont have to worry about the problematic honda ingnition modules anymore.
