ok so ive been thinking of what to do with my type r...i just recently bought it and it smokes but im going to have that fixed pretty soon...i hope...i just was wondering whats worth what and good ideas and bad ones...i really want to turbo but then again i want to use nitrous since ive never used it...so what would be a suggestion??? i have had a turbo car but it got stolen 3 weeks after i turbo'd it....so idk what to do...what can these motors take???

Just focus on getting it healthy again. Do you have a bad ring or something?

Focus on keeping it safe and not showing it off to folks you don't know and it will stay in your possession.

The stock R alone already attract too many wanted and unwanted attention left a lone a turbo R. You better off try the tech porum.

 

yea its safe at home my turbo civic got stolen from my work....

utilitarian-idk wut exactly if its a ring or not....it smokes bad but we think its the valve seals simply because the valves literally hav oil baked on them...plus i think the head is a little warped because it spits oil out the front of the motor...thats another reason its smoking i think....lmk what you think

 

It sounds like you have some other issues to take care fo first. I'd look into that whole "oil spitting out the front of the motor" thing before I slapped a turbo on there. Thats just my opinion.....

 

You didn't mention your compression, so I'm assuming you haven't checked it yet.

Also, you can have a leakdown test done to possibly pinpoint your problem.

just educate your self on where you really wanna go with this car, get it running right before doing any mods.

stick around this forum it will all come to you, this car is great in stock form.

 

hahaha yea thanks....i did do a compression check it tested all good accept the one cylinder on the side where the oil is spitting out from...i think thats the reason its smoking and loss of compression....what do you all think??
