i dont think there is really that much to worry about. i just hate the damn noise. but eventually it will mess up your tranny but i dont think syncro's are that expensive to fix. its just the fact that you have to take the tranny out and everything. i need to do it to the si tranny in my hatch.

Could be different things...could be worn/broken shifter forks, could be an un-seated bearing, could be low/no fluid, could be the PP/clutch.

Good luck!

It's one of two things or both.

Broken shift fork or syncro's. either way the tranny needs to get rebuilt. If you can do the work yourself, which I doubt because your asking. It will be fairly cheap. If you have it done, plan on $1000.00.

If you can remove and install it you can save some.

I did that once and had the pull it back out because the shop messed up and the tranny wouldn't go into reverse.

Figure what you can do or want to do. Do you have a good set of tools? Do you want to replace the clutch while the trannys out ? How long do you plan to keep the car? what do you plan to do with the car, turbo?

I'll bet you thought this was going to be easy...
