i have made another thread about timing but i did a lil more research.

seems like people are selling teh skunk2 cam gear as a universal cam gear from 88-00.

this cant be right? i konw the z6 and y8 head hvae different timing.

anyone verify this?

no, they are not universal, check your other thread that I replied in.

 

i checked it...thats the same exact cam gear i have so its probably safe to say mine is a everything BUT y8 cam gear...

by advance do i put push the gear back 4.5 degrees? what does each mark equal too?

also konw the tq specs of the cam gear nuts? thanks

 

Looks like cam bolt is to be torqued to 30 ft/lbs using red loctite.
Allen adjusting bolts should be torqued to 6-7 ft/lbs using a 1/4" torque wrench.

 

I have a newer cam gear from Skunk2 and it actually is universal. It has separate timing marks for the Z6 and Y8 heads (opposing ends).
