Default 18x8.5 +45 offset What size tires?

i just traded in my Rx-8 for and '04 RSX Type S, and i have the wheels from the Rx-8 that i would like to put on. there aren't too many people on here that use 8.5" wide wheels, and was hoping someone had some input on this.

clursx suggests 235/40/18's, but that seems a little wide-

is anyone personally running or has run 8.5" wheels on a moderately lowered RSX that has helpful input?

CLIFFNOTES: i have 18x8.5" wheels. What tires?

Why not sell the wheels and get something more realistic, like a 17x7.5" wheel or something?

While you can make that wheel fit, it's gonna rub. And with a 8.5" wide wheel, you need wide tires to go on there, probably at least a 225 with a 235 being better.

Do the math on your own:

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Stock 02-04 RSX-S wheel is 16x6.5" +45.

Basically you're looking at 25mm less on the inside and outside.

they're gram light 57F's, and i would like to keep them if they don't fit like complete ***. i don't want to go through the hassle of selling them because you always lose money and waste time with flaky buyers.

i've seen a couple people on here that run this size, that's why i wanted to hear from someone that has done this before.

I would go with a 235/40/18 which will give you about a 25.4 diameter. You still might have to get the fenders rolled.

with an 8.5" wheel, use a 235. it fills in the tire very well and makes the most out of the contact patch.
