tps problem! Help
For some reason when i drive past 7g the tps kicks in. Would it not having a gasket on it make it do that? Well if anyone could help me let me know. Its got a vic X intake manifold, 70mm thottle body so if that has to do with tps please fill me in.
tps is just to control the throttle/pedal position to let computer know when it is idel and when it is full throttle so computer can supply with acurate fuel/air. and what do u mean kicks in? tps doesnt kick in. vtec does and yes it does need/have a gasket to goes on the throttle body. and i dont really quite understand your question. if u have removed tps and reinstalled it to the new throttle body. u will need to perform a tps adjustment with a multimeter.
vtec kicks in fine but when it go above 7 grand the check engine light comes on with tps code. So i think i do need a gasket ima try that first and see if that helps

A CEL for your TPS at a certain RPM is not going to be fixed with a gasket. You're not going to get a CEL because there's no gasket there, even if it is, in fact, leaking air. Try replacing the TPS, put a gasket on anyway, and calibrate it properly. 0.45 volts on 0% throttle, 4.5 volts at WOT.
