Hello New to the forum...

Anyway... I got a serious question maybe you all could help me out..
I got a B16A2 . With a Jackson Racing supercharger, Short ram intake, Headers, N-1 exaust, MSD 6BTM box and MSD wires(theyre ment for a d16 but hey they work so F it).. Anyway the super charger wasnt working and i jimmy riged it up but now that i fixed it properly I noticed that it had pre detonation happening from 5RPM and up. Also if i down shift to 2nd while going 40MPH i dont feel a pull it just feels like a power loss and i hear the pre detonation happening.. Like Pop Pop POP. You know the sound like fiery poping. This concerns me most because I am really stumped i dont know what the hell is happening. Now the car hasnt been dyno tuned at all. So i really cant say if im running rich or lean.Nothing helps i put the MSD boost retard down to 0 and it helps in bottom end rpm take off but when i get to 5,000RPM it starts detonating again its really frustrating..

Now my questions is .. Where should i start looking for a problem?? Comments , questions ,concerns anything constructive and helpfull is wellcome. Please because me and my friend are stumped.. We have a suspician it might be the BTM MSD box or hell maybe the d16 msd wires even though it was running good with them until i fix the jerry rig. But then again those are just elegations... do you have any type of ecu managing sysytem

 

no i dont have a ECU(just the stock one). i was going to get a peggy back ECU like a Hondata s300.

Do you think thats where the problem might be?
