Default D16A6 rebuild

I just rebuilt my D16A6. I went with CP 11:1 comp pistions. H beam eagle rods. Stock Crank. 8 pound flywheel. block was resleeved. ACT Heavy duty 6 puck racing clutch. Ported and polished the head with 1mm over valves. ferara valves? dont know how to spell it. and stiff springs and all new **** on the head. I have a cam that is biggest for stock fuel injection. Any idea of anything else i should do and what do you think horsepower will come out to? 150? 200? 250? maybe an idea for times in the 1/4. i ran a 15.4 with it being stock? any help please

looks good. So it looks like your going all motor? Get yourself a good header or your increased valve size wont matter. Get a good honda oem head gasket too! Make sure you have some good exhaust to combine with the rebuild. All of these things make the engine build worth it. Dont expect that engine to suck through and blow out through a straw.

That engine will most likely make 150whp with a good ecu and tune job. Not sure though. Would make more with a d17 crank! Also you could make more with a newer head. Thats why I went to a Y7 head over the older A6 head.

yes all motor for sure lol... i dyno'd at 100 at the wheels and a local shop guy said that i would gain about 45-50 for the bottem end and 45-50 for the head. so i was guessing 180 to 200. and yes i know to get a y7 head gasket... and i have an better header... its not the best but it helped when it was stock. i just hope after tuning it and all i can hit 13.9's

I hope you think this guy is reputable!

Ive never seen a NA d16 of any kind over 183whp. And that one was a 1.7 stroked conversion so........

Good luck.

by the info u provided your setup is reall only gonna make 130-150whp depending on the tunewhich might get your goal of 13.9 imo you over built the bottom end for n/a you could have just went with stock rods and zc pistons for alot less and netted a little more compression, but since its built put a smaller cam in there and do 100 shot of nitrous or something that will make u happy.

my old setup was 89 crx with a d16z6 swap/si trans stock bottom end, port n polished head zex cam head was milled and just bolt ons i/h/e it went 14.1@96 n/a on street tires never dynoed

do u know which cam you have??? with the forged internals i would be running a 100 shot, but i would start off small then increase progessivly also upgrade your fuel pump, get a set of colder spark plugs and i think the rule with nirtrous is retard the ignition timing 2 degrees for every 50 shot of hp, also stock plug wires are ok, if u are gonna run the msd wires i would suggest using there cap aswell the new ones have a cover to hold the plug wires on since the msd tend to pop off. and i dont suggest using an msd box they dont work well with hondas, i do like there blaster ss coil though.

I have never heard of an RV style cam. Thought that was only for muscle cars? The only good regrind I know of is DELTA CAM.

I would not expect over 120-150 for an all motor set up with just 11:1 pistons. Unless you're a engine blueprinting genius, if you want power....just go FI
