Default 2001 Civic EX Door Lock Problems

I've got an 01 EX, and my passenger side door lock stopped responding to both the wireless transmitter and the internal controls, thus I can only lock/unlock it manually.

Any ideas on what could cause this? Bad actuator? A fuse?

Thanks in advance.

- Mark

That's standard on all Civics. If you want to lock the driver side door while it's open, you need to pull the handle then lock it.

it's a common problem. Your lock actuator is out. Most of the time it happens on teh driver side of the car though. Mine has been out, along with many other members, for years now. I'm too lazy to fix it.

That's what I figured. From what I've read, although it's a cheap part, it's a pain in the *** to fix.

Your not the only one with this problem, my 01 coupster has the same problem I'm 99.99% positively sure that it's a bad actuator. Like what was said earlier cheap part pain in da *** to fix.

Your lucky I've had this problem for years and just too lazy to do anything about it. I kinda got used to using the key to get in my drivers side door LMFAO! FTW!

Well, if it was a bad fuse wouldn't the actuator not make the "clicking" noise when it tries to engage?
