if you are buying high quality speakers, you should buy a high quality deck, or just leave the stock deck and buy a multi channel amp. I bought a 50Wx4 alpine deck and I had mb quart speakers put in. About a month later I dropped $300 for a 4 channel 75Wx4 (rms) mtx amp..and you can totally tell the difference. I can crank it up really loud and it won't distort. So depending on how much of an audiophile you are, you should get a new deck, or an amp to power your speakers. Actually you might have to get both because you will need preouts on your deck and I don't know if the stock deck has them...
well first off what is the RMS......or aka continuous wattage (power, whatever) of the speakers?? the higher it is the better it will sound as you turn the music up. and the more wattage it can take. and to answer the second question yes it will sound better than before but it will not be utilizing all of the speakers' output. i would recommend getting cerwin vega speakers. i have had a pair of 6x9 CVs in my old car and they sounded great and i also have a pair of CV fron speakers in my teg which also sound great. i would look at alpine decks but they will put a dent in your wallet. they are great decks. pioneer also maker decent decks. if i were you i would look for a deck that is MP3 enabled, that is soo cool. hope this helps
this should be in the audio/security forum.. but anyway..
what is the recommended RMS for the speakers your about to get? your better off getting a new head unit as the stock deck is pretty weak.. or better yet be like me and replace everything lolz.. get a new head unit, get a good 4 ch amp for your mids and tweets, get anotha amp for the subs .... but yeah I would get a new head unit at a minimum and if you can afford it.. get a good amp for your speakers.. as it will sound better than the aftermarket head units internal amp... look at the RMS of the speakers and make sure the amp you get can supply at least that RMS...
I got rid of my stock head unit the weekend I got my car Lolz..
